Calumet County is the Supper Club Capital of the Midwest® and we encourage visitors to bring their appetites and find out why! Despite what the name implies, no memberships are needed at these dining establishments. A supper club is a dining experience like no other that includes a whole lot of food for not too much money. Your experience starts at the bar where the most popular drink ordered is the Old Fashioned. A typical meal may include a relish tray, bread, soup, salad, an entrée such as steak, chicken or fish and ice cream drinks for dessert. Most supper clubs are multi-generational family run businesses and feature recipes that have been around just as long. You can’t be in a hurry though. The experience could take a couple of hours, especially if you go on a weekend. Calumet County has 8 supper clubs to choose from and is the Supper Club Capital of the Midwest®. It is unknown why there are so many supper clubs in the fifth smallest county of Wisconsin, but one theory is because we were settled by people who worked hard in the farm fields and barns and needed a ‘night out’ at the end of the week.
